Creator and Executive Producer Angela Marie Hutchinson Amplifies Black Women’s Voices with New Talk Show hosted by Vanessa Simmons.

‘Asking for a Friend’ premieres on Thursday, 1/28

Los Angeles, Calif. (January 22, 2021) – Producer, screenwriter, and entrepreneur Angela Marie Hutchinson, recently sold a talk show to Facebook and has signed with A3 Artists Agency within its alternative programming, digital media, licensing, and branding division.

Hutchinson’s newest media venture is ‘Asking for a Friend,’ a digital series talk show hosted by Vanessa Simmons. As the creator and executive producer, Hutchinson says, “Vanessa’s new talk show provides a platform to celebrate diverse voices and specifically addresses the interests of black women.”

The show dives into conversations on toxic relationships, political and community activism, childbirth, and more. “Audiences are craving more ways to connect, ask questions, and get informed about the issues that matter to them. ‘Asking for a Friend’ is that avenue,” says Hutchinson. “The show allows viewers to see an intimate side of Vanessa and have access to experts that not only share their expertise on various topics but also express their candid, unfiltered views.”

Simmons says, “I’ve always wanted to host a talk show, and I’m excited to dive into thought-provoking conversations where no topic is off-limits.”

These two media mavens have been working together on various entertainment projects since Simmons starred in the Hulu movie, “Hollywood Chaos,” which Hutchinson wrote, cast, and produced, and now streams on Peacock.

‘Asking for a Friend’ premieres on Thursday, January 28, on Facebook and will air weekly every Thursday. FBE, an award-winning multiplatform company, produce the talk show. Executive producers include Marc Hustvedt, CEO of FBE, Nneka Enurah, Head of Development and Partnerships at FBE, Angela Marie Hutchinson, Vanessa Simmons, and showrunner Amber Mike. The show’s original theme song is written by Hutchinson and the Vanderveers and produced by Sony Music producers Bruce and Ebony Vanderveer of Inrage Entertainment.
